The Observer
Behind the Mind

You’ve come here for one or more reasons:

Negativity

Overthinking

Feeling struck

Lack of meaning

You’re on a pathway to relief from your condition.

If you've worked through the guide, you will already have encountered a simple but powerful idea:

You can observe your thoughts.

At first this may seem obvious.
Of course you can notice what you’re thinking!

But if you stay with the idea for a moment, it begins to reveal something deeper.

If a thought can be observed, then perhaps the thought is not the deepest part of who you are.

This raises an interesting question.

What is the deepest part of who you are?

The brain does not simply receive information from the world.
It interprets, organises, filters, and gives meaning to what it receives.

In other words, you don’t experience reality in a purely objective way.
You experience reality through the lens of your perceptions, beliefs, memories, expectations, and emotional patterns.

Most of these filters operate automatically.

You rarely notice them because you’ve lived with them for so long.

You begin to understand how much of your suffering comes not from events themselves, but from the meanings you unconsciously attach to them.

And as this understanding grows, another discovery often follows.

The discovery of your true self!

It’s an awakeningl, and it comes in small experiences.

Most of us catch only brief glimpses of this.

Perhaps while watching a sunset.

Perhaps in meditation, prayer, contemplation, or a quiet moment when the mind temporarily settles.

For a few seconds, there is simply awareness itself.

Just presence

Yet the mind quickly returns with its familiar stories and concerns, and the moment passes.

PERHAPS YOU RECOGNIZE YOURSELF IN THIS?

By now you will have seen that much of your suffering has arisen because you’ve become completely identified with your thoughts and feelings.

You assume that every thought is true.

Every fear is a warning.

Every doubt is reality.

Every emotion is identity.

You may struggle with negative thinking that seems impossible to silence.

You may find yourself reacting automatically to situations and then regretting your response later.

Perhaps anxiety, self-doubt, discouragement, or a sense of emptiness have become unwelcome companions.

BUT THERE’S RELIEF AHEAD!

Your search may be one of the most important things you ever undertake.

SIMPLY BECOMING AN OBSERVER DOESN’T CHANGE THOUGHTS

While being an observer is of great value, but the real struggle lies deeper.

The mind continuously interprets reality.

It creates stories.

It makes assumptions.

It forms habits of thought and emotion.

Over time, those patterns become so familiar that you stop noticing them.

You simply assume: “This is who I am.”

But what if that isn't true?

THERE’S ANOTHER WAY

Attempting to use willpower isn’t the way to go.

Freedom doesn’t come from trying to control every thought.

The simple discovery that you can observe your thoughts may appear insignificant at first.

But for many people it becomes a doorway.

A doorway to greater self-awareness.

Greater self-awareness is accompanied by an environment in which you can deal with troubling issues like negativity.

Greater freedom from automatic reactions.

Greater understanding of yourself and others.

And most importantly, a doorway to increasing self-knowledge.

This of itself is a key to the minimization of troubling thoughts and reactions.

This realization became the foundation of a journey that transformed my own life.

The transformation was not in learning to be an observer of my thoughts.

That was an insight that was liberating.

But even though I continued to be an observer, the old emotional reactions kept returning.

Decades of conditioning didn’t disappear because I understood one idea.

As I said, understanding is only a doorway.

I want to take you briefly through my journey.

“Quantum Mind & Consciousness … is truly amazing.”

The Discovery That Changed Everything

For many years I believed every thought that appeared in my mind.

When fear appeared, I became fearful.

When doubt appeared, I became doubtful.

When negative thoughts appeared, I assumed they reflected reality.

The result was years of suffering.

There were periods when life became so dark that I could hardly get out of a chair.

What eventually changed wasn't my circumstances.

It was my relationship with thought itself.

Somehow I came to know the simple act of observing created a small space between awareness and thought.

That tiny shift became the beginning of a completely different way of living.

As I learned the value of observing and became more practised, I began to recover the ‘real me’ as my identity.

I became my own person and treated my thoughts as a stream of information only – some helpful, some to be ignored.

This growth eventually led me to long years of study and exploration during which I gained credentials, including accreditation as an adminstrator of the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator and the Singer–Loomis Inventory of Personality.

Using these tools, I worked for forty years as a volunteer mentoring and coaching many people with the principles that lifted me out of that dark sojourn and that I now promote.

A BIGGER PICTURE

I came to understand that being an observer of my thoughts was a small part of a grand drama ahead.

The doorway I passed through led to more doorways of discovery – discoveries about the mind and quantum science.

I felt inner growth and strength.

It was a beautiful revelation.

I had to share it.

So I committed myself to the creation of the ‘Quantum Mind & Consciousness’ program.

This is what world-renowned educator
Dr Kevin Treston wrote about the course.

"The comprehensive and highly relevant program
'Quantum Mind & Consciousness'
by Les Savage is truly amazing."

“Some people struggle to find any meaning in day-to-day living, which may seem devoid of any significant purpose in an apparently sterile universe.

‘Who am I?’

‘How do I find meaning in my life now?’

‘What is my identity in the web of relationships in a cosmic world?’

These are questions which challenge our quest for life coherence and deep purpose.

How might these questions be addressed?

Are there resources and approaches which might assist and empower a person to transform an apparent life of sterility or inertia into a life with meaning, spirituality, and generativity?

The comprehensive and highly relevant program ‘Quantum Mind & Consciousness’ by Les Savage is such a resource.

The expanse of this resource in its depth and access to contemporary life-journey resources is truly amazing. Full credit to Les for not only initiating the participants to such resources, but orienting them to reflective and enriching life-changing experiences.

Participants in the process will be in awe at the abundance of focused videos and directed texts.

I highly recommend ‘Quantum Mind & Consciousness’ for those who choose to deepen their life paths to wholeness and spiritual oneness.

Thank you, Les Savage, for giving us such a valuable resource.”
